INTRODUCTION
Welcome to SongCredit.net ("SongCredit", "we", "us", or "our"), a music credit registration platform operated by Zen Music Distribution ("Zen Music"). By accessing or using SongCredit.net, you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms").
Please read these Terms carefully before registering an account or submitting any credit information. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use SongCredit.
These Terms apply to all users of SongCredit, including independent artists, songwriters, producers, music labels, publishers, and music distributors.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the platform. Your continued use of SongCredit after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
1. DEFINITIONS
"Platform" means the SongCredit.net website, web application, API, and any related services operated by Zen Music Distribution.
"Credit Registration" means the act of submitting a song record to SongCredit that identifies the title, contributors, roles, and associated music identifiers (ISRC, ISWC, IPI, IPN) for a musical work.
"Registered Song" means any musical work submitted to and accepted by SongCredit as part of a credit registration.
"Contributor" means any individual identified in a credit registration as having a creative or technical role in the creation of a musical work, including but not limited to songwriters, composers, lyricists, producers, recording artists, featured artists, session musicians, and audio engineers.
"Verified Badge" means the SongCredit verification status granted to a Registered Song once all listed Contributors have confirmed their participation.
"Music Identifiers" means standardised codes including ISRC (International Standard Recording Code), ISWC (International Standard Musical Work Code), IPI (Interested Party Information number), and IPN (International Performer Number).
"Zen Music" means Zen Music Distribution, the parent company and operator of SongCredit.net.
2. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION & ELIGIBILITY
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a SongCredit account. If you are under 18, you may only use SongCredit with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2.2 Account accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account. You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account details, including your legal name, contact information, and any linked music identifiers (IPI, IPN, ISNI).
2.3 Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@songcredit.net if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
2.4 One account per person
Each individual may maintain only one personal SongCredit account. Labels, publishers, and distributors may create organisational accounts subject to our Enterprise Terms.
2.5 Zen Music integration
If you are an existing Zen Music Distribution user, you may link your Zen Music account to SongCredit. Linked accounts are subject to both these Terms and the Zen Music Distribution Terms of Service.
3. CREDIT REGISTRATION — YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Accuracy of submitted credits
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of all credit information you submit to SongCredit. This includes contributor names, roles, split percentages, and associated Music Identifiers. SongCredit does not independently verify the legal accuracy of submitted credits — verification only confirms that named contributors have acknowledged their participation.
3.2 Authority to register
By submitting a credit registration, you represent and warrant that you have the legal right and authority to register the credits for the musical work in question. You must not register credits for songs you did not contribute to, or register credits on behalf of contributors without their knowledge and consent.
3.3 Contributor consent
When you list another person as a Contributor, SongCredit will send that person a verification request. You must have that person's consent to submit their information to SongCredit. By naming a Contributor, you confirm that you have permission to do so.
3.4 No fraudulent registrations
You must not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent credit information. Any attempt to misattribute authorship, claim credits you are not entitled to, or remove legitimate contributors from a registration is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination and referral to relevant rights organisations.
3.5 Disputes between contributors
SongCredit is a registration platform, not a legal arbitrator. In the event of a dispute between contributors regarding ownership, authorship, or split percentages, SongCredit will flag the registration as disputed and suspend the Verified Badge until the dispute is resolved by the parties or by a court or arbitration body of competent jurisdiction. SongCredit cannot and does not resolve credit disputes.
3.6 Immutability of verified records
Once a credit registration receives a Verified Badge, the core record (song title, ISRC, ISWC, contributor names, and roles) is locked. Amendments to verified records require a formal amendment request and re-verification by all affected contributors. This is intentional — verified credits are designed to be tamper-resistant.
4. MUSIC IDENTIFIERS (ISRC, ISWC, IPI, IPN)
4.1 ISRC assignment
SongCredit may assist in the assignment or linking of ISRCs to registered songs, subject to your use of Zen Music Distribution or an approved ISRC registrant partner. SongCredit is not an official ISRC issuing agency. ISRCs are issued under the authority of IFPI and national ISRC agencies.
4.2 ISWC registration
SongCredit facilitates ISWC registration through its partner PROs and publishing administrators including Songtrust and APRA AMCOS. The actual ISWC is assigned by CISAC-affiliated organisations, not by SongCredit directly.
4.3 IPI and IPN accuracy
You are responsible for ensuring that IPI and IPN numbers linked to your account are correct and belong to you. Linking another person's IPI or IPN to your account without their authorisation is a serious breach of these Terms.
4.4 No guarantee of royalty collection
Registration on SongCredit does not guarantee royalty collection. Royalties are collected and distributed by PROs, neighbouring rights societies, and distributors according to their own processes and timelines. SongCredit facilitates the data infrastructure that enables royalty routing — it does not collect or hold royalties on your behalf.
5. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
5.1 Your content
You retain all intellectual property rights to your music, lyrics, compositions, and any other creative works you register on SongCredit. Registering a song on SongCredit does not transfer any ownership rights to Zen Music or SongCredit.
5.2 Licence to SongCredit
By submitting a credit registration, you grant SongCredit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and share the credit metadata (song title, contributor names, roles, Music Identifiers) for the purpose of operating the platform, enabling public artist profiles, and facilitating royalty routing. This licence does not extend to your actual music recordings or compositions.
5.3 SongCredit intellectual property
The SongCredit platform, including its design, technology, branding, and verification system, is the intellectual property of Zen Music Distribution. You may not copy, reproduce, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from any part of the SongCredit platform without our express written permission.
5.4 Public credit data
Verified credit registrations are publicly searchable on SongCredit as part of the platform's core purpose. If you do not wish your credit information to be publicly visible, do not submit it for registration. Artist profile pages are public by default.
6. PAYMENTS & SUBSCRIPTION
6.1 Free tier
SongCredit offers a free tier that allows registration of up to 5 songs. No payment information is required for the free tier.
6.2 Pro and Enterprise plans
Paid plans are available for users requiring unlimited registrations, API access, royalty routing tools, and priority verification. Pricing is published on our Pricing page and is subject to change with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.
6.3 Billing and refunds
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you cancel your subscription, your access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.
6.4 Failed payments
If a payment fails, we will notify you by email. If payment is not resolved within 7 days, your account may be downgraded to the free tier. Your registered credit data will be retained — you will not lose your registration history due to a lapsed subscription.
7. PROHIBITED CONDUCT
You agree not to use SongCredit to:
a) Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading credit information for any song.
b) Register credits for songs you have no legitimate connection to.
c) Impersonate another artist, songwriter, producer, or music industry professional.
d) Use another person's IPI, IPN, or ISNI number without their authorisation.
e) Scrape, copy, or systematically extract data from SongCredit without written permission.
f) Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure, servers, or security systems.
g) Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Thai law or regulation.
h) Attempt to manipulate search results, artist profiles, or verification statuses through artificial means.
i) Register credits in bad faith with the intent to dispute or claim ownership of another artist's work.
8. PRIVACY & DATA
8.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of SongCredit is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA) of Thailand.
8.2 Data shared with third parties
To facilitate royalty routing, SongCredit may share your credit data and Music Identifiers with PROs, neighbouring rights societies, music distributors, and collecting organisations. We will only share data necessary to fulfil the royalty routing function and will not sell your personal data to third parties.
8.3 Data shared with Zen Music
As SongCredit is a product of Zen Music Distribution, certain account and credit data is shared between the two platforms for operational purposes. If you have a linked Zen Music account, your distribution and credit data may be used together to provide integrated services.
8.4 Public profile data
Artist profile pages, including your name, registered songs, and verified credits, are publicly visible on SongCredit by default. This is a core feature of the platform — credit registration is designed to create a public, searchable record of authorship.
8.5 Data retention
Verified credit registrations are retained indefinitely as part of the permanent public record. If you delete your account, your personal contact information will be removed, but your verified credit records will remain in the system to preserve the integrity of the registration history.
9. DISCLAIMERS & LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
9.1 No legal advice
SongCredit is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice regarding copyright, music rights, royalty entitlement, or any other legal matter. You should consult a qualified music lawyer for legal guidance.
9.2 No royalty guarantee
SongCredit does not guarantee that registering your credits will result in royalty payments. Royalty collection depends on many factors outside our control, including your PRO membership, the policies of collecting societies, and whether your music is actually performed or streamed.
9.3 Platform availability
We strive to maintain continuous platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. SongCredit may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from platform downtime.
9.4 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Thai law, Zen Music Distribution and SongCredit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost royalties, lost profits, or loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.
9.5 Third-party services
SongCredit integrates with third-party services including PROs, distributors, and collecting societies. We are not responsible for the actions, errors, or omissions of these third parties.
10. ACCOUNT TERMINATION
10.1 Termination by you
You may close your SongCredit account at any time by contacting support@songcredit.net. As noted in Section 8.5, your verified credit records will be retained after account closure to preserve the integrity of the registration system.
10.2 Termination by SongCredit
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, submitted fraudulent credit information, or engaged in conduct that harms other users or the integrity of the platform.
10.3 Effect of termination
Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease immediately. Any pending verifications will be cancelled. Verified registrations already on record will remain as part of the public credit history.
11. GOVERNING LAW & DISPUTES
11.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SongCredit shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
11.2 Informal resolution
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at legal@songcredit.net to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes within 30 days of receiving written notice.
11.3 Class action waiver
You agree to bring any claims against SongCredit in your individual capacity only, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.
